The 2014 Plant Cell Dynamics Meeting
will be held in Madison, WI
Wednesday June 4th - Friday June 6th

Is this just a regional meeting / Do I need to live in the MidWest to attend?
  • Absolutely NOT!

  • The meeting is open to all irrespective of where you are located and for the 2013 meeting there are participants from California to Canada! The Midwest in our name - well the meeting is organized by a bunch of plant cell biologists who just happen to live in the MidWest of the USA.......

What is the Midwest Plant Cell Dynamics meeting?
  • US Plant Cell Biologists organize an annual "plant cell dynamics" meeting with the objective of bringing together plant cell biologists in an inclusive and highly interactive forum that provides both a venue for presenting the latest advances in plant cell biology and for learning new tools and approaches

The meeting is designed to be "cheap and cheerful"
  • registration for the 2013 meeting was $200
  • accomodation in the student dorms was $42/night double; $63/night single, including breakfast
  • 30 travel fellowships were provided through a conference grant generously provided by NSF
  • The meeting is also highly oriented towards presentations from undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and beginning faculty

The first meeting was held in June 2012 in Madison, WI and the second in June 2013
  • More than 80 people attended each meeting from labs across the continent from California to Kentucky and Canada
  • The 2013 program included oral presentations from the members of the attending labs, posters, workshops on modeling and image analysis, and plenty of time for informal discussions and quite amazing food (and drinks) at every poster social. See some pictures from 2013 here.
  • Oh, and if you haven't attended a meeting with the crazy cow.... then you need to talk to one of the 2013 meeting participants!
